Two Part Epoxy Adhesive Filler
(S = Sandable: G = Gap-filling: P = Paste)
S.G.P.Epoxy Paste is a high strength adhesive filler product that can be used to make fast, permanent repairs to virtually any material. A two part epoxy product, it is easy to use and cures to a hard, high-impact resistant filler, with excellent adhesion. Its superior working characteristics allow the tradesman, handyman and hobbyist to bond and fill many structural, decorative or hobby materials. No special tools or skills are required. The bond/repair can be machined, sanded and painted. S.G.P. Epoxy Paste is a highly versatile product, with an almost limitless number of applications.
It has a shelf-life of approximately 2 years, a workability time of 30 minutes @ 25C and sets in 1 hour at approximately 25C. It can be machined after 2 - 3 hours and develops a tensile strength of 16 MPa after 24 hours. ( Generally, the colder the ambient temperature, the longer the set time)
S.G.P. Epoxy Paste may be smoothed by wetting the spreading utensil with a little water. This may be of benefit to many modellers who use epoxy or cast resin kits of many types.
Utensils that have NOT been used to mix both A & B parts, may be cleaned with water before the A or B compound dries.
Repairing; terra-cotta, ceramics, pottery, baked clay objects, chipped concrete and brick, (both as an adhesive and as a build-up putty)
Sealing; galvanized downpipes, iron pipes, water-tanks etc.
Bonding; timber, metal to timber, certain plastics (after testing), urethanes and resins of all types, glass to glass and metal.
Caulking; general
Equal part mix, lightweight, high strength, excellent impact resistance, ease of application.
Remove all grease, wax, dust and loose debris from surfaces to be bonded. If necessary, abrade the surface to remove any rust or debris. For resin, epoxy or urethane surfaces, a light sand with sandpaper to give a slight 'key' to the surface will help. Remove the dust before applying the SGP Paste. Measure equal parts of SGP Paste by weight or volume & mix thoroughly and completely to a uniform colour using a smearing/mixing technique. Apply with pressure to surfaces to ensure good contact and minimum air bubbles that may get trapped in the joint.
Follow normal industrial precautions. Keep contents away from children. If swallowed, call a Doctor or POISONS INFORMATION CENTRE. When mixing, avoid skin contact or breathing of vapours. If skin contact occurs, wash with soapy water. During application, wear protective clothing, and where necessary, goggles and mask/respirator. Provide adequate ventilation or fresh air.
